dotty art: yayoi kasama

we got a glimpse of dotty art in uk, so when we heard dotty art is in sydney, we went to have a peek...
MCA, here we come...

it sure looked scary from the front! mcduck reckons she is the true inspiration for the "ring" movies - with her stare and dots
reminded me of silver sugar balls in cake decoration...
but apparently this is narcissus garden...
... the fluro dotted room...
the repeated patterns... really reminded me of the ikea fabric i saw a few days ago
compare...
look look look, esp this one...
did the ikea designers got their ideas from yayoi?

the security at yayoi was v tight... the famous mirrored room was there - could not document it though...

apart from yayoi, downstair's sketchings and sculptures etc were really good too...

i loved this one... charcoaled crowds... each person was in a diff posture
and the pencil sculpture...
